about the gsi impact hub

The GSI Impact Hub is a collaboration between The Nature Conservancy, Green Infrastructure Leadership Exchange, One Water Econ, government agencies and technical partners.

The GSI Impact Hub was created to address a critical need for information about the full value of GSI by providing accessible, reliable, and actionable information.

The GSI Impact Hub team recognizes the potential of GSI to transform cities and communities in positive ways. We believe that by making GSI knowledge and tools widely available, we can support local efforts to create healthier, more resilient urban environments for all.

We envision a future where cities are designed with nature in mind, where green spaces are integrated into urban landscapes to manage stormwater, enhance resilience to climate change, and improve quality of life.

.

"By prioritizing green infrastructure, we can build more equitable and resilient cities, ensuring that every community benefits from cleaner air, better water, and reduced heat."
Barbara L. Hopkins
Green Infrastructure Leadership Exchange
Our team comprises experts from diverse fields, including urban planning, environmental science, natural resource economics, and community advocacy, all dedicated to advancing the implementation of GSI.

By collaborating with local governments, non-profits, and residents, we strive to make GSI a standard practice in urban and suburban development. At the core of our mission is a commitment to equity and inclusivity. We believe that everyone should benefit from the environmental and social advantages of GSI and seek to empower practitioners and decisionmakers with the knowledge and tools they need to build resilient, livable, and equitable cities and communities.

Project Team

The Nature Conservancy is a global environmental nonprofit working to create a world where people and nature can thrive. TNC works with local communities, governments, and the private sector to mainstream and scale nature-based solutions to address today’s most pressing environmental challenges and create a more livable planet for people and nature.

One Water Econ provides strategic planning and economic analysis services to water utilities, government agencies, and NGOs, assisting their efforts to address high-profile water resource management issues.

The Exchange is a social innovation network and a community of practice that seeks to activate local governments and stormwater agencies in the U.S. and Canada to implement GSI equitably.
